WARNING: If you haven't read Karina's "Experiment in Terror" series yet, do not read this forum discussion, since we put together some missing pieces of the Experiment in Terror puzzle, that we learned about from this book, so there are spoilers for both, here. ------------------------------- I've created this for those of you wanting to discuss.... "things" - backtracking on this book is fun, and realizing other things is even more fun! In fact, had I not discussed this book with Kirsten after I read it, I would have missed an extremely important and pretty exciting detail. I thought I was pretty clever with the things that I realized once I finished, but she caught a very important detail!! So this is what this forum is for!
Okay, what detail did I miss? I saw Marye's name, but I don't think that is what you mean. Are we talking about Jacob? I am thinking he is one of the Jacobs that clown lady was talking to and also he kind of reminded me of a certain red-headed person from EIT?
BINGO!!! We were wondering what he was... and now we know Cool though right? I can go back to crushing on him a bit, again. Not more than Dex, though. Never more than Dex.
Oh and ... can you remember what she wished for? Can you remember that scene where she wished soooooo hard?
I remember what she wished for, but what will she have to give up in return? I feel like we have some insight now into Maximus, and I realize why he has done certain things, but Perry needs to be with Dex.
She wished for her father to stop drinking, for her brother to get better (both of those happened).... and for her mother to come BACK. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!
Yes. Maximus' last name is "Jacobs" so he changed his first name, but still kept Jacob. She wished her brother was "cured" her father would stop drinking, her mother would come back.
I also wonder if there is a connection with New Orleans because isn't that where Max is from? We know Mambo Maryse is there.
Oh damn...but she didn't make a deal with a demon, did she? I am so tired, but can't stop thinking about this book.
I wonder how many people these guardians protect. Max was obviously sent to protect Dex since they were in college together. Jacob here has Sage, but also said he would take care of Dawn.
OMG!!! I didn't even clue in that his LAST name was Jacobs. Sheeesh as much as I kind of really liked Max, I sure didn't pay much attention to his details. *sigh* For shame Maryse!!
