I started this spoiler forum for any and all that need to discuss in detail!! A few of you have mentioned some "parts" so by all means, let it loose! I will be avoiding this one until tonight (still reading)... Loving it!
Okay.... since I am the lone ranger so far, I will kick this discussion off with the prologue: Mark Twain said, “The two most important days in your life is the day you were born and the day you find out why” I don't remember the day I was born but I remember the day I found out why. His name was Deuce. He was my “why”. And this is our story. It is not a pretty one. Some parts of it are downright ugly. But it’s ours. And because I believe everything happens for a reason, I wouldn’t change thing
One thing I have to say is ... she has the right reactions when he treats her bad ("...go in the other room to cry..." UGH!!!), or she walks "in on him" (GROWL!!!!) she leaves him. But he NEVER goes to get her. Years pass between each of their breakups (always his fault) he's always emotionally/interanlly crushed by it, but NEVER goes to get her. ARGH!!! now that's a hard-ass, right there for you. No matter what, he won't bend for the only woman he loves and has loved forever. It kills me. Mind you I still have more of the book to read, so who knows... but my goodness. YEARS have passed and it kills me!
Yes, but he does not know how to love/show love. His Mother left him with his horrible Father and he (Deuce) never felt worth anything to anyone so that is why he never goes after Eva... and yes, you still have lots to read and many more years to go through.
Great observation Maryse! I also think the author does this to allow Eva to grow up because she is so young for most of the book. But there is one part of the book I was really mad he didn't go after her. You know which part......URGH
Stephanie - Which part was that?! At the end when she says goodbye for the 'last' time? He never ever once goes after her. I NEVER noticed that! You are right, Maryse! I would so not be made out for this lifestyle. LOVE reading it... I am glad that she would leave him too though. She had a backbone at least. She never really ran to him either. Just that once at the beginning... right?
Oh my goodness. I totally agree with you Jill, I am definitely not cut out for this sort of lifestyle. Deuce broke my heart with the way he treated her when she was pregnant and then throwing her out of the club right before she went into labor!! I love all this angsty stuff but oh my goodness I was ready to smack him HARD! I am so glad the writer gave them a happy ending and he became the man that Eva had always said he could be. This story reminded me of a much darker version of Motorcycle Man. I loved the grittiness and rawness of it, but it was definitely hard to take in some parts!
This book was all kinds of crazy and i loved every single minute of it! Deuce was the biggest Douche at times but I loved him!!! Deuce loved him some Eva, so in love with her, he just didn't know how to love her the way she needed to be loved and luckily for him after all the years he finally got it together and she was still there. Great book! Deuce and Eva are still floating around in my head, I keep going back to random parts in the book...smh The 5 year old in the jail talking to stranger and the stranger talking back kind of had me a little uneasy as well as the 34 yr. old getting the 16 yr. old off in stairwell but I got it...i understood where the author was taking us, the story she was trying to tell and i loved it! A question i have is was Ivy Olivia Deuces baby? Or did he just say in the hospital she was his because he knew him and Eva were going to be together since Chase was dead at this point?
Takisha - Lordy I am in LOVE with your profile picture!!!! I am just going to sit here and stare at it.............. Soooo yummy..... Yes. Deuce was a total dick and man I my heart would ACHE. I agree with Jennifer. When Deuce kicked her out of the compound right before she went into labor I was beyond livid at him and so hurt for her. But you're right, Takisha, he didn't know how to love. He knew it to but didn't know how to change it. Anyway, onto your question I think it was Deuce's baby b/c he says he has a picture of her on his desk and it is her first birthday and she has the grin of her father, Deuce. But that is just my thought. Also, LOVED that Eva set up a whole nursery at the compound. That's when you know for sure he is a changed man. What.a.relief!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I'm coming in with a hand over my eyes I don't see anything... No spoilers of rme yet, but. WAnted to say I am well and truly furious. I'm at 80% and I dont think I can forgive him. Omg he's back doing Miranda, ignoring Eva, and even tho he was allllll willing to accept the baby issue, she didn't hide anything from him when he made her get back together with him... Now not only is he ignoring her worse and worse, treating her badly and blaming her about the baby issues now that she needs him most... and won't turn her calls and staying at the club alllllll the time, he acts MAD at HER??! Oh no he didn't!! She doesn't need this. UGH!!!!! That maaaaaaannnnn! ROAR! *phew* thank you for letting me rant. Now back to finish the book. Love y'all!
And another thing! Stupid bullpoop about "freedom is having the love of yor life on the back of your bike,and knowing you love her..." Whatever. What he said. It was more biker-eloquent and I totally melted over it. I fell for that line. ARGH!!!!! I'm such a silly girl. Ok 2nd rant over. I may be back for more...
Annnnnd another thing!! Ugh!! I need to kick the next guy in this book that cheats on his wife/girlfriend/chosen club-whore or all of the above, gets called out about it and puts her "in her place", tells her "how it is" and calls her "Bitch!" Whooooooooooo long breath out.... Deep breath in. Ok. By the way. All that to say I'm almost done, and yes. It's been quite a read. Mostly fun. And angrifyng. Love y'all again! Brb!
Maryse- you must be at the part where Jace is with Dorothy.....ugh!! As much as Deuce made me GRRRR I totally related to Eva's responses. When she got mad and left I agreed and when he gave his whole heartfelt ALPHA male speeches I melted like her. Do we know Ivy is his b/c her eyes are blue and had his smile? or Am I remembering this wrong? Takisha! Holy Smokes love the pic!!!! If you haven't read Raine Miller's Naked book (which I am sure you have) David Gandy is her muse for the hero in the book! Can not wait for your review Maryse!!!!
